| This tour
through the Rico branch of Lago Argentino, is
an incomparable possibility to stare at the blue
walls of Perito Moreno glacier and it's icebergs
from a distance of 300 Mts. Only from this
perspective you can be aware of the real dimension
of it's walls, about 50 to 80 meters high and
of this great glacier. The small interior lagoons,
rivers and caves can be seen. This sail does not
include walking on the ice, but a walk around
the magellanic woods that grows by the glacier. |

| Walk
on the Perito Moreno glacier |

| As sailing
near the glacier offers an unique visual perspective,
to experience walking on Perito Moreno glacier
(minitrekking) is outstanding. Once the Rico branch
is crossed, the walk through the woods starts,
at the end of the way, crampons are given to be
put on. Once this task is complete, small groups
escorted by specialized guides start a walk of
around two hours among great ice peaks, towers,
turquoise blue cracks and small lagoons. It is
an easy walk, recommended for ages between 10
to 60 years old. It is also important to take
sport shoes, if possible trekking shoes, thick
socks, long trousers, jacket, sweater, sun glasses,
sun block, gloves and hat. This tour can be booked

| Greatest
glaciers of Lago Argentino |

| Upsala
glacier is very impressive for it´s magnitude.
Is the biggest one of all in this area and the
largest in South America with a lenght of 50 Km
and almost 10 Km wide. It covers an area of about
595 km2, three times bigger than Buenos Aires
City. The approach to this glacier is sailing
through the Norte branch of Lago Argentino. It´s
surrounded by lenga woods and green valleys. During
this sail, icebergs fallen off the front wall,
float on the lake giving a great view. Spegazzini
glacier covers an area of 66 km2, and is 1,5 Km
wide. It´s outstanding mainly for its high and
imposing walls. The front of the glacier reaches
135 mts . The differences that vegetation show
around the glacier caused for its advance, the
action of the wind and the sun are very attractive
too. The tour starts in Puerto Bandera. From the
peer, the boat sails towards the Norte branch
of Lago Argentino until it arrives infront of
the walls of Upsala glacier. The sailing continues
up to Bahía Onelli, getting down to stay on land
for three hours and take a walk through the woods
until you reach Lago Onelli. This wonderful place
show us Agassiz, Onelli and
Bolados glaciers. Then the sailing continues
to Spegazzini glacier. |

| This clear
waters lake surrounded with lengas and ñires, south
to Lago Argentino, 51 km. from El Calafate. Known for
the fishing of rainbow and canadian trouts, percas and
puyen, it is also, a very nice place for camping and
enjoying Patagonic Andean woods. During the tour different
"estancias" can be appreciated, once arrived in the
protected area an archeological site with rock paintings.
Besides sport fishing, bikes, camping and trekking,
during the summer it is also possible to swim. |

On
the northern extreme of the park, the granite
peaks, lakes, woods and glaciers become all together
one of the most extraordinary places of the world.
The highest mountains are Mt. Fitz Roy (3405m)
and Mt. Torre (3102 m). In this scenario, the
small village of El Chaltén, gives shelter to
the climbers and trekkers of all
around the world. El Chaltén, founded in 1985,
is the newest town in this country. Nowadays it
has a population of about 300 inhabitants, and
an increasing offer in touristic services.
