This is
a very popular choice that combines the landscapes
and bird watching. It's a simple and healthy sport,
and lets you visit places that cannot be accessed
by car.

Back horse rides |
|
Short
back horse rides to Bahía Redonda, about two hours
long around Lago Argentino, watching typical birds
(black necked swans, flamingos, ducks, seagulls,
garzas) enjoying the panoramic view of El Calafate
and Lago Argentino from the nearby hills. This
tour includes a typical lunch: mate and "tortas
fritas" (gaucho´s bread). |

Cuevas del Gualichu |

It’s a
beautiful and cultural tour on the shore of Lago
Argentino, just 7 Km. far from El Calafate, in
the territory once dominated by the Tehuelches.
Today, this splendid place full of sunlight and
immensity, is an unique testimony of our ancient
history and ancestors. The caves are archeological
sites with petroglyphs of great value, which are
a major destiny. It is also possible to make here
some trekking or horse rides. It gives, too, a
beautiful panoramic view of El Calafate from the
surrounding hills and of Laguna de los Cisnes.
There is a building for the visitors with a snack
bar and toilettes, a small library, and a collection
of fossils and native tools. |
